Swim
Comments: I thought I would put my self in a much more aggressive line and be prepared for the jostling for swim positions. There were a few people in front of me that turned out to be slower swimmers and getting around them proved to be more challenging with other swimmers. Other than some initial panic from getting run over a couple times, I did improve swim time by over 2.5 mins from last year. What would you do differently?: Winning/placing swim times are all under 12 mins. While I am pleased with the improvement - I need to put more focus on speed work. Transition 1
What would you do differently?: Not sure where I could shave off 30 seconds. Bike
Comments: Felt good - pushed the pace and tried to keep dialed in to 22mph+. Knocked nearly 4mins off time last year. What would you do differently?: Would need to knock at least 90 seconds off to be within podium bike times. Training rides before this race were too easy (riding with wife). Needed to do more sprint intervals. Transition 2
Comments: Had to put socks on b/c of blister on right heel. What would you do differently?: Not wearing socks. A little more speedwork. Run
Post race
Warm down: Drank the rest of my water bottle, continued to hydrate at the water station. Have not tried Heed yet. Event comments: Tying not to look at the 40-44 times. I would have won that AG with my time. Last updated: 2013-06-17 12:00 AM
