Swim
Comments: This was a pretty good swim for me. I haven't swam in a while and I was able to find someone's feet that made it pretty easy to follow and the swim was actually an easy to moderate pace for me. What would you do differently?: Not much with this amount of training. Transition 1
Comments: My damn wetsuit always gets stuck!!! I'm not sure how to fix that problem, but my giant feet don't help the situation! What would you do differently?: Slow and methodical. Bike
Comments: I held back too much on the bike. My stomach was being a bit funny, so I just didn't push it enough. I was feeling good and could have pushed harder. Feet were numb as well. What would you do differently?: Just go balls out. Transition 2
Comments: T2 went very smooth. I jammed my feet into my shoes and couldn't even feel them. Run
Comments: For the first mile I could not push off. My toes were completely numb and I couldn't get a rhythm at all. I was finally able to settle in and was sucking wind hardcore by the end. Finally with about 1.25 miles left to go the guy who won my AG ran by. He was CRUISING...I kept him in site for about two minutes. As soon as we hit the hills on the trail, he was gone. Happy to have led my AG race until this point, I checked my rearview mirror and cruised into the finish strong. Post race
Warm down: soaked the legs in the cold lake and had some brunch. What limited your ability to perform faster: Limited swim training and not toughing it out. It's all in my head. Event comments: This race is just awesome....great venue and great people. Post race food is AWESOME. Last updated: 2013-06-17 12:00 AM
