Comments:

Shouldn't have worn the suit. Water was way too hot and I felt like an alligator being cooked by the sun. After 400yards I had to slowdown as I was getting fatigued. There was one guy around 30 secs ahead of me and a women about 15 secs ahead.
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

No splits for transitions but it went smoothly. The new length of my suit with the legs now trimmed up to the calves made it easy to get off. The guy 1st out of the water was just a swimmer. He was still putting his socks on when I ran past him and never saw him again.
Bike
  • 32m 50s
  • 13.5 miles
  • 24.90 mile/hr
Comments:

Decided to just ride with my S80 front wheel and no disc as it's a real pita putting it on. My back felt good throughout the ride but my power is off in a significant way. Either that's my real fitness level or I'm fatigued. I rode the first 7miles at 288watts and then it trailed off to 283watts by the end. My focus was off and when i got to the top of the main "hill" I looked back and there wasn't a soul near me which didn't help motivate me. I cruised in and started spinning the legs to get them ready to run.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

quick in and out.
Run
  • 17m 54s
  • 3 miles
  • 05m 46s  min/mile
Comments:

I was alone, and I mean alone. Usually there's a biker leading the runner through the maze of streets but they weren't ready so I just ran the streets looking for kids on corners to guide me. I was happy with run splits given being alone just running in the streets. 5:55,6:01,5:58.
Post race
Warm down:

jumped back into the lake to cool off.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

either fatigue or just not that fit on the bike.

Event comments:

Great local low-key race. The swim is one of the best as it's longer than those super short ones and there is a KEG at the finish line!
