Run
Comments: Real comfortable first 17 miles. runner's knee pain started in both knees at m7, even though I had the strap on my right knee. Around m12 I stopped to tighten the strap, and it gradually got better while the left knee got worse for the rest of the race. Beside the runner's knee, my legs felt relatively good running in Hoka's for the first time. Felt like running on a cloud. Took another Alleve at m5 an m15. Took another gel at m7, m13, and m19. Took another Enduralyte and Anti-Fatigue Cap 3 times during race. Stopped briefly at 2 medical stops to get a squirt of Biofreeze on each patellar tendon. Splashed water on my head each water stop, got gatorade at some too. Finished my whole Gatorade bottle I carried with my by around mile 25. What would you do differently?: Not have this be my 5th marathon in 50 days, and 7 days before the Philadelphia marathon! Post race
Warm down: light stretching, drank 2 coconut waters they handed out at the finish, with a nice visor too. What limited your ability to perform faster: Not have this be my 5th marathon in 50 days, and 7 days before the Philadelphia marathon! Runner's knee. Event comments: Coukd've used a couple more drink stations the last half. Last updated: 2013-07-03 12:00 AM
