Pre-race routine:

Woke at 4:50am, drank a coffee, had banana on way. Had bottle of gatorade. Did no Race Day Boost loading this time, will save for MCM. Aquaphored everything. Put drops creatine in my gatorade bottle I carried for race, took 1 drop when left car. Took 1 powerbar gel and a few Enduralytes and Anti-Fatigue Caps 20 min before start.
Event warmup:

Hung out in Caesars to keep warm. light stretching.

Comments:

Ran first 11m with Evan. He got a PR and 1st in AG (@:07:23) in the half. Stopped to pee around mile 10, had to catch back up to Evan after. After left Evan, tried like heck to catch 4:00 pace group while in the downwind portion of the course til around M16. Legs were hurting too much from last week's marathon, couldn't do it. Caught Marlo and Loud around M17, just as Marlo pulled off the course and out of the race. Lou was just pacing Marlo, and he paced me for the next couple miles until we got back to where Marlo was. Once back on the Boardwalk, I knew I wasn't gonna beat 4:00 without hurting myself (MCM in 2 weeks!) so I decided to do a lot more walking in the stife 20+mph winds. Garmin died at M24.4. Met Evan and Linnea a little before M26, and walk with them a bit, then when 4:10 pace group passed me, I had to run to the finish to at least beat them. Took Enduralytes, Anti Fatigue Caps and gel packs and Alleve throughout the race as usual.
What would you do differently?:

to go faster: don't run fast marathon the week before, load with Race Day Boost, don't pace Evan, turn off the wind.
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

Wind, Marathon week before
