Pre-race routine:

Up Early, had my normal bagel with peanut butter and Coffee. Took coffee and water to drink.

Comments:

Lots of people swimming off course. Almost got hit head on a few times. Water was very shallow and at times my hand hit ground on my down stroke.
Volunteers/ Lifeguards were awesome and very encouraging! They did a great job!

Better sighting.

What would you do differently?:

I know I could have been faster, but it was raining and I had my stuff in bags so it wouldn't get wet. I wouldn't tie my bags, just leave them open.

Felt really slow. No motivation. Bad internal conversation with myself. My hips and knee started hurting pretty bad.

Started cramping. Thought I was going to crap my pants at one point. Water/ Gatoraide tasted really weird.
What would you do differently?:

Need to work on my running.

Warm down:

Line for food was long and I got frustrated. Just really wanted to go home and take a warm shower.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I didn't train as consistently as I should have.

Event comments:

Volunteers were awesome! It was very organized. Due to weather it was postponed, but the race organizers kept everyone informed and decisions were made in a timely fashion. Thank you for all your hard work.
