Swim
Comments: I grew up swimming in ponds and rivers so not much fear from that but i really didn't train well for this distance. One third in I wasn't sure I'd finish with my wave. Should have started training earlier in the spring. Relied on base fitness and breaststroke for rest. Anaerobic, not a good start. A bit woosey to T1 What would you do differently?: Train, pool 3x week and get coaching. Transition 1
Comments: Needed to recover from swim. May get tri shoes. What would you do differently?: PRACTICE. First Tri, just a learning experience. Bike
Comments: Mashed it. Passed alot of people, not in my AG obviously. WET. Corners were SLOW. What would you do differently?: Keep training. Transition 2
Comments: Changed socks B/C of rain. lost some time What would you do differently?: Practice T2 Run
Comments: Dead legs never came back. Felt like I was hardly moving. Surprised I was under 9 min pace. What would you do differently?: Brick work. Tri top instead of cycle shirt(water logged and heavy) Post race
Warm down: walked around, streched. Powerade/water/banana. What limited your ability to perform faster: New to Tri. Swim took alot out of me. To the pool for some training. Event comments: A great Tri for a newbie like me. I was a bit nervous but all were friendly and very helpful, especially the guys around me in the Transition area. Very supportive. I'll be back for the OLY next year. Last updated: 2006-07-02 12:00 AM

Up at 4:30. PB whole wheat bagel. Banana and gatorade. Coffee. 50 min drive.
Registration smooth. Checked bike. Orientation. To Transition area. No wet suits, water temp 80. I was counting on the help of a wetsuit. MY first tri, decided to go for it. 2nd to last wave, a bit of a long wait. Just relaxed, stay loose.
little w/u. Mostly rehearsing T1 and T2 in mind.
