Swim
Comments: Drafted great for the 1st 150 but was very inefficient at the walls. I also only swam 1 time in the last 2 weeks and it showed. The swim felt fast but the time did not show it. The sick stomach went away. What would you do differently?: More swimming Transition 1
Comments: Pretty quick What would you do differently?: Nothing Bike
Comments: The bike went good and if you consider the 1 extra mile I drove then my pace was 21.46mph. I took a wrong turn because the kid flagging waved a right turn and it was supposed to be left, the cop didn't yell and after .5 miles I realized that the course was no longer marked so I turned around. What would you do differently?: Stay on course Transition 2
Comments: Quick transition and got the zoot ali'i shoes on quick, took 1 extra antifatigue pill. What would you do differently?: nothing Run
Comments: All out for as long as possible, not my best race but went pretty good. What would you do differently?: Nothing Post race
Warm down: Got a bunch of water and had a coke. Found my wife coming in on the bike and decided to push her for her 5k portion of the race. I was able to help her get a 5k PR at 24:45. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of swim practice and wrong turn on the bike. If I had properly navigated I would have picked up 1 spot overall in age group and 10 spots overall in men. Event comments: Good race if you like hills. Last updated: 2013-08-11 12:00 AM

Really did not want to wake up, wife pushed me out of bed. Had some steel cut oats and coffee. Took 4 anti-fatigue caps and took a gu 15 minutes before race start. Got to the event and realized I forgot my water bottle but ran around one and filled it with water. Went to the porta potty and finished transition setup, got marked, and headed for the pool.
Did 100m swim and felt sick to my stomach got out talked with wife and friends to calm myself down.
