Pre-race routine:

Picked up Race kit on Saturday, so I wouldn't be rushed, arrived 1:10 before race start , got marked and set up , had 45 minutes to relax.
Event warmup:

Got in a short prerace swim maybe a couple of hundred meters
Swim
  • 17m 2s
  • 750 meters
  • 02m 16s / 100 meters
Comments:

Felt very comfortable on the swim, deliberately went easy for the first 200M, but I didn't think I was swimming as slow as I was, I was thinking I was at around a 15:30 to16 min pace not 17min, some bumping through out the whole race but water was pretty clear so I found a comparable speed swimmer at around 400M and drafted a bit once things got sorted out.
What would you do differently?:

go out a bit harder
Transition 1
  • 03m 31s
Comments:

A bit slow with suit and getting Socks on, couldn't run as fast as I wanted to because of bad knee(bone Hematoma) and in out was pretty long distance maybe 250M, fiddled with garmin a bit too long
What would you do differently?:

Dry feet better
Bike
  • 1h 10m 40s
  • 33.63 kms
  • 28.76 km/hr
Comments:

Dumped the bike, letting some faster riders by, just touched the shoulder and it was super soft , I was down on the road before I could blink still clipper in, luckily it was just starting a hill climb so speed was slow, banged elbow , knee, thumb nail and road rash on the calf, sure took the wind out of my sails and killed my ride, for about 6 minutes till I got going again.
What would you do differently?:

Be more Carefull, I just got a bit unatentive at the wrong time and paid the price
Post race
Warm down:

Hit the med station and got injuries attended too, had some post race food, and checked times, loaded up and went for breakfast.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

injury from bike crash 25k into the 33k ride and the last 8 K was almost all uphill

Event comments:

I enjoyed the day and the race a lot, sections on the bike course were very bad
pavement wise and at critical points on the course( blind fast 90 degree downhill turns for example going from good surface to absolutely horrid pot marked and very chewed up surface. Loved the swim course water was comfortable temp very clear best water I have swam in this year.
