Comments: It sucks having people lap me. Transition 1
Bike
Comments: Had to use an easy gear because of the pain in my sciatic nerve. Pulled myself up on my arms seemed to help my pain. I have not been on my bike for two months. Transition 2
Comments: Had to stretch the sciatic. Run
Comments: Endurance base is low and I walked a lot. Some pain in my leg but not too much, My first step on my right leg hurt but after that there was not too much pain. Post race
Warm down: Stretched especially my sciatic nerve Went to Lake Tahoe for retreat and had a busy day of events and swimming. The water was healing. What limited your ability to perform faster: Two months prior I injured my sciatic nerve in my left leg. Doc gave me meds and told me not to train. My leg still hurts and resting did not seem o help any longer The lack of training and being careful not to cause more injury limited me greatly. Event comments: When they announced the top three of our age group I was not announced, which I did not really expect to place. However, I was really discouraged because the person who got thid finished with a time 13 minutes longer than I finished last year. I knew I was slower but I hadn't expected to be THAT much slower. Finally read the results, a week later, and I was second in my age group! I was only 4 mins slower than I was last year. Whew! Last updated: 2013-08-25 12:00 AM

Ate some oatmeal and headed out.. First to arrive. Chris and I ate some bad pasta salad because we both had GI issues. I used the bathroom 4 times before the race...good thin I was in the last wave! I have had bad sciatic pain and had not trained for two months. Sciatic pain was so bad the day before I could not sit at work. I wasn't sure I could do the race but felt the need to try.
Does walking bak and forth to the restroom count? Got in the pool for a few minutes an swam some short lap.
