Swim
Comments: Swim went as planned... I was shooting for a sub 1:20:00 and got it... What would you do differently?: Swim faster... Transition 1
Comments: This was a learning experience... I took my time and did what I had to do to get ready. I wasn't concerned on gaining or loosing a minute or two in T1. Made sure I had all of my nutrients and was properly "lubed up" for the ride... What would you do differently?: Nothing Bike
Comments: I was shooting for a sub 7 hr ride and met my goal. I didn't over do anything and tried to keep a steady pace as much as possible, which as very difficult to do with all of the hills. This will be a ride that will be remembered for quite a while... What would you do differently?: Go faster... Transition 2
Comments: Took my time since the legs were tight coming off the bike... Wanted to make sure the muscles didn't start to cramp up. Got "lubed up" again & headed out for the run... What would you do differently?: No thing... Run
Comments: Was shooting for a sub 6 hour run & I beat it.. First half of the run I took my time, walked if I needed to. Wanted to make sure I still had enough in the tank for the 2nd loop... Last 10 miles was basically a pure adrenaline rush, just focused on getting to the finish line. Gave out as many thank yous & high fives as possible to all of the volunteers & fans... Enjoyed the moment... What would you do differently?: Run faster... Post race
Warm down: Walked from the finish to the location where all of the food/fluids/ etc was located a couple blocks away... Got my food, stretched, got in some fluids, and stretched some more... Felt very good & strong after the race.. What limited your ability to perform faster: Genetics... Event comments: I am an Ironman!!! Last updated: 2013-08-26 12:00 AM

Suffering from a bad head cold, so I loaded up on Day-Quil and other meds to get me out the door. Had a bagel for breakfast.
15 min walk from hotel to Transition, then another 20 minute walk from Transition to the swim start. Had to wait in line for about an hour and a half to to finally get in the water...Napped in line for the first hour, after that I began stretching to get ready for the swim
