Comments: SERIOUSLY - the first 2.5 miles were down - and almost STEEP down! My goal was to run an 11:00 pace for the first 10 and if I felt I had anything left to step it up. Well that went out the window for the first 2.5 because it was so steep on the downhill, I couldn't go any slower without killing my knees. So I went with it. Then at the end, I had some energy left in the tank but the up between miles 12-13 was so steep it took all I had to maintain my 11:46 pace!! OH well. First HM. Had a good day. Met overall goal to be under 2:30! What would you do differently?: Nada Post race
Warm down: walked around, hopped in the car and went out to eat! What limited your ability to perform faster: I'm slow. Event comments: No strong feelings one way or the other on the race or organization other than my #1 gripe (and this is the same gripe every time) no gender specific shirts! Usual routine. Breakfast was a bagel thin with peanut butter and 2 glasses of water (one with fizz).
No warm up. I stood at the start and froze my butt off.
