Pre-race routine:

Customary pop tart, coffee, and banana. Set up my transition. Talked to participants
Event warmup:

none. Some walking up a big hill to port o potties
Swim
  • 21m 50s
  • 1000 meters
  • 02m 11s / 100 meters
Comments:

What a great swim. I just settled down and got into a groove. I had not completed some OWS training so I did not push it until the last 50 meters.
THE WET SUIT STRIPPERS WERE AWESOME
What would you do differently?:

Push the pace more.
Transition 1
  • 03m 46s
Comments:

Like I said. The wet suit strippers at this event are better than any other event.
I spend to much time in transition.
Bike
  • 1h 31m 1s
  • 29 miles
  • 19.12 mile/hr
Comments:

Great course. I should have pushed it more early. Congestion on course coming out of transition was bad a first but was reduced after two miles.
What would you do differently?:

Not slow to drink water right before the biggest hill on the course. I had slowed down and had two put up the water bottle at the start of the hill and grind out the rest of the hill. Train on drinking water and riding and putting up water bottle. I am always worried about crashing. Need to perfect technique
Transition 2
  • 02m 42s
Comments:

Terrible transition. My hammies were killing me. I had tied my T2 bag two tight and my classes were fogged and with out my glasses I can not see $hit. Also, I had
to stop and hit a port of pottie
What would you do differently?:

Train more on transition and be better prepared
Run
  • 1h 01m 40s
  • 6.4 miles
  • 09m 38s  min/mile
Comments:

The first half mile I stopped to stretch my ham strings twice. Otherwise a decent race. I could tell my lack of training effected my pace. Put I worked through it. The positive feedback from other participants and the crowd helped me out.
What would you do differently?:

Train more
Post race
Warm down:

Nice set up. The food was dissapointing. But the overall post race was good.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Recovering from a major illness. It felt good just to be back at a Tri participating. Such a positive feel to finish. I did better than I thought I would.

Event comments:

High Five does a great job.
