Swim
Comments: Started first. Felt good for first half. Last half shoulders were getting tired. What would you do differently?: Train more swimming Transition 1
Comments: Shoes were not open in transition. Ran with shoes on feet to mount line. What would you do differently?: Have straps open. Bike
Comments: Led for most of the first loop. Was going too fast, just excited to be in the lead.Maybe drank too much, felt sloshy on the run. What would you do differently?: Slow down a little at the beginning. Transition 2
Comments: Ran with bike shoes to transition after brief walk immediately off bike. Legs wobbly taking shoes off. Stabilized and put on running shoes. Ran out of transition What would you do differently?: Run whole way in. Run
Comments: Legs felt heavy at the beginning. After first aid station, felt better. Last mile or so felt like I was in a groove. What would you do differently?: go out faster. Post race
Warm down: Two waters, a donut and chocolate milk. A little stretching. What limited your ability to perform faster: Unsure about what to expect. Event comments: Small race in its first year. Just a small community race, but great for first timers. I wish there had been 1 more aid station on the run. Bike course was not closed, but traffic was stopped at each intersection. No problems there. Run was through a quiet neighborhood. Some raffles at the end, a dj, but nothing too fancy. Great race for kids (have 2 mini spints for ages 6-9, 10-13). Overall, great experience and looking forward to more tri's! Last updated: 2013-09-30 12:00 AM
