Pre-race routine:

Eat bagel with peanut butter, banana, drink water. Drink water and take a gel 15 minutes before race.

Comments:

Felt great til Mile 20, then legs felt heavy, toe started hurting around mile 21.
What would you do differently?:

Very little. Bodyglide all sides of toes, wear a sleeveless shirt.
Post race
Warm down:

Drink water, eat banana and bagel, walk 1/2 mile or so, get massage.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

It was my first marathon and I wanted to run somewhat conservative.

Event comments:

Super well organized, great weather, gorgeous scenery. No throngs of cheering spectators, but I don't need that. Super small town race! I highly recommend it!!!

Course: Very flat and fast. First 4 miles, quiet residential neighborhood, next 15-bike trail along Mohawk River, short hill at mile 12, followed by downhill, short steep downhill at Mile 17, run along a highway for 4 miles, then back on bike trail for rest of race. Water and Gatorade about every 2 miles, but not approximate.
