Run
Comments: This was a Tuneup Race and the plan was to run the first 18 miles at the upper end of my aerobic pace and then drop the hammer for the last 8.2 miles. 1-18: 2:13:00, Avg HR 150 (82% 18-26.2: 57:14, Avg HR 164 (91%) What would you do differently?: Nothing. This was a Personal Best Time for me :) I beat my 2012 time by 11m 3s. I qualified for Boston 2015 by 14m 48s. Keeping the BQ Streak alive. (Qualified every year since 2008) This was NOT a goal race. It was a tune up at the beginning of marathon season to set my paces for Winter Marathon Season. (Carlsbad, Boston and Orange County in 2014) Post race
Warm down: Get my drop bag, drink my flat cola, check the result and walk back to the train station. Got to hang out in the VIP area for a while and warm up a bit. Event comments: This is my 7th time doing LBM and my overall opinion continues to improve. It is a nice course with great scenery and good organization. The fire boat at mile 4 is the best. Just be ready for lots of running on concrete. Last updated: 2013-10-16 12:00 AM
