Swim
Comments: had a solid swim and was just ahead of my target pace at the half way point. Came out of the water in 41st place overall, 9th in my Age Group. Transition 1
Comments: Solid Transition; Passed 8 people, 1 in my age group just in transition. (According to the Results) Now in 33rd Place overall, 8th in my AG. Bike
Comments: Very Solid Bike Passed 10 people on the bike, 2 in my Age Group. (According to the Results) What would you do differently?: Nothing; bike fitness was solid. Stayed +/- 30 seconds from my competitors AND saved my legs for the run where I was going to crush them all. Transition 2
Comments: A Solid Transition. Passed 1 more person in transition. Now 22nd overall and 6th in my Age Group. Run
Comments: Awesome run. consistent pace and spent the first 4 miles hunting my competition and pacing the 1st place guy from the under 18 group. (We finished together) We dropped the 2nd place guy in the 18 and under group at about mile 4. Passed 6 more people on the run, 2 of them in my AG. Post race
Warm down: Drink water, check the results and pack up my gear. What limited your ability to perform faster: This was a PR for me and my first Sub 2:30 Olympic. My goal for the race was 2:25 so I think I did very well. MUST WORK ON MY SWIM. My swim was solid, but at the level I am racing at now, it is clearly where I need to do better. all of my competition were 18:00 - 22:00 minutes in the water and there is no way to recover from that sort of deficit in an Olympic. Event comments: This is by far and away my favorite race. This is the 7th time doing it. Last updated: 2013-10-16 12:00 AM
