Pre-race routine:

Woke up 2 hours before the race start and drank a protein shake and ate a yogurt cup.
Event warmup:

Walked to race start from parking lot, it was 30 degrees out and a little windy. Met up with a coworker by chance and sat in his car in the heat until 5 minutes before race start.
Run
  • 3h 09m 54s
  • 26.2 miles
  • 07m 15s  min/mile
Comments:

My HR was a little higher than I would have liked, but I attributed it to the cold weather and race day anxiety and didn't adjust my pacing for it. I kept a pretty constant pace throughout the race until mile 21 where my legs began to stiffen up. Was cold the entire time.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, for my first marathon this went great. Nailed all my nutrition and hydration requirements and kept a steady effort. I was never tired/fatigued or out of breath at any point; my legs were the limiting factor.
Post race
Warm down:

Attempted to stretch. Walked around a lot. Ate some bananas.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Conditioning my legs for longer runs. My longest run up to this point was 18 miles, and I only ran more than 30 mpw the month leading up to the race.

Event comments:

Good race put on by Spinx and GTC, will probably do it again next year.
