Swim
Comments: there was almost no current - the swim was actually southbound which is unusual. Managed to stay in the middle of the pack for most of the swim without getting kicked much. Transition 1
Comments: everything went well except spent 10-20 seconds extra getting the socks on. Bike
Comments: nice bike course, didn't even mind the over-and-back on the bridge - stayed in the saddle for both inclines and felt fine powering up. What would you do differently?: get a TT bike... Transition 2
Run
Comments: Still a little nauseous from the bike, started out ok and felt better by mile 2. Didn't see a mile 1 marker, and with the bridge wasn't sure how to pace. 15:30 at mile 2, so picked it up a little. Got passed by a few 40+ AG's that were in the wave 4:00 behind. My only goal was to finish before Linda Robb even with me having a 8:00 head start....LOL. The weather couldn't have been better for a July run in FL. Post race
Warm down: Watched the other finishers, hung out with the wife and kids. Drank some coffee and ate a bagel. Headed home for a nap. Event comments: Felt pretty good at the finish. Improved my time > 4:00 from last year's race so happy with that. Last updated: 2006-07-09 12:00 AM

This is the closest race to my house, so didn't show up as early as usual.
Made it in time to set up, use the bathroom and got to the beach with 5 minutes to spare. Wife and kids drove separate and saw them get to the beach within a minute of the start.
