Comments: Goal was 7:40 pace. First mile was 7:42, which was close. Next two miles were 15:37, which was 7:48 pace, Next mile was 7:53, Last 9/10 was 7:42. Overall time was a bit tough to gauge. It is based on my watch, which I didn't shut off for some time after the finish; I estimate 5 seconds, but it may have been 10 or 15. What would you do differently?: Come out of the last hill stronger. It took a lot out of me and I got passed by a pack, some of whom I passed back when I kicked into gear. Time is a bit of a disappointment, as I was shooting for 7:40 and ended up running 7:49. In part I look at the distance and the cold, but I didn't train as much as I wanted to, and the training wasn't very organized. Post race
Warm down: Two bottles of water, walked for a half hour to find Nora. Then I jogged with her back to the car. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of training, cold. Event comments: Picking up registration the day before was difficult. They couldn't find the stack that contained our numbers. Ran out of hot chocolate after the race.
