Swim
Transition 1
Comments: Loooooong run from swim out to T1 ... feet were numb most of the way. wetsuit was really stuck on my heals (forgot to put on Glide before the race) Bike
Comments: Great bike course! Super well marshaled. Transition 2
Comments: Getting faster and faster at this one. Still need to practice hopping off the bike while it's still rolling... but getting better. Run
Comments: Felt really good (at least for the first 10 miles... then the wheels started to fall off a bit as I dipped from ~7:50 pace to 8:30 pace) Post race
Event comments: Top notch event put on by the rev3 folks! Positives: - TONS of happy volunteers - Great "vibe" to the race ... lots of first timers and people out there to have fun. - Beautiful and FAST course Negatives - No official race parking... you have to park on-street and feed the meter (not likely), or pay ~$15/day in a local lot. - While the post race food was delicious, they quickly ran out of everything that wasn't meat-oriented ... so by the time my wife finished the Half there was only chicken tacos or pork tacos left. While they were both delicious, it wasn't really the post race food she was looking for (bagel, rice/beans, pretzels, etc.). Last updated: 2013-12-04 12:00 AM

Up at 3:45AM ... standard peanut butter on a bagel with a cup of coffee in the car.
very short dip in the ocean... just enough time to rip a huge hole in the back of my wetsuit
