Um...........First OW swim inside of buoys. The start was pretty ugly, and I couldn't get my breath down. I pretty much OLB - old lady breaststroked my way out. I had to stop completely for a bit while the next wave swam past - I didn't want to whack anyone in the face. I think I got it together before the first timers waves came up, so I didn't notice that. I pulled it together and swam to the last buoy and all the way back. I actually felt pretty good coming out of the water.
What would you do differently?:

OW awim more, I know.

I felt good coming out of the swim, but I think I swallowed soem of the Schuykill. I burped up a lot of it, and just moved very slowly cause I felt crappy.
What would you do differently?:

Honestly, I'm not fast right now, so T! isn't a concern.

Comments:

This was weird, weird, weird. Looking at my computer, I averaged about 13 mph the first lap and 17 mph the second. And I felt about the same both laps. And, sure enough, my average was 15 mph. Weird.

I passed people on the second lap. Big deal for me. I acutally had to remember the drafting/passing rules. Cool.

The course was gorgeous - I took a moment on the last bridge to just coast and look around.
What would you do differently?:

I haven't been on the road bike since my accident nearly a month ago. I was really uncomfortable (and I think the fall tweaked my set-up, since my seat was so low that I had to unclip). I had to sit up in my handlebars and coast a lot.

Seems slow - hmmm.

Comments:

Your typical run - slow and steady, felt good. I have decided that Heed is good - no taste!
What would you do differently?:

Push the last mile - I had plenty in the tank.
Post race
Warm down:

Ate a cookie.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Rusty on the race skills.

Event comments:

Fun race - the closed course was a nice change.
