Swim
Comments: This was a wave start with to many people for this short of course. Wasn't able to swim the first half for people being on top of each other. What would you do differently?: Try to get towards the front or way off to the side. Transition 1
Comments: Transition area was not set up fairly. It was a circle and I was placed by the bike and run out except I had to go around the 150 foot circle pushing my bike the 150 feet for the bike out and 150 feet for the bike in. The people at the other side of the circle near the bike out pushed there bikes a total of 10 feet for both transitions. The racks were also spaced very closely causing some problems. What would you do differently?: nothing Bike
Comments: The bike course was patrolled very well. What would you do differently?: Push a little harder. I was afraid my calfs would cramp on the run but it never happened. Transition 2
Comments: Other than having to run around the 150 foot circle with my bike it went very smooth. What would you do differently?: I've bought a set of yanks for my running shoes. Run
Comments: It was getting hot by now and was having trouble with my pace. I had to much gas in the tank at the end. What would you do differently?: I need to run lots more and work on getting to my pace and staying there for the whole race. Post race
Warm down: Lots of water and got in the shade. What limited your ability to perform faster: Anxiety of the open water swim hampered my performance. Event comments: They ran out of water and food before all the racers finished. It seemed like they catered to the faster racers. Last updated: 2006-07-10 12:00 AM

1 bagel and 1 bottle of water at 5am. 1 gel at 7:30am.
We were told we could practice swim but it never happened. I was able to run 1/4 mile to loosen up.
