Swim
Comments: first 750 m race. felt much longer than 500m!! drank 1/2 the st.lawrence on 2 seperate occasions. better swim than last race. What would you do differently?: just keep in the water. practice, practice, practice. Transition 1
Comments: at the back of the transition area. had to sit down to put on shoes (light-headed!!) elastic laces may be handy. Bike
Comments: i would benefit from using a road bike as opposed to my mountain bike. i am addicted and it may be time to look for an entry level road/tri bike. i have no problems with my legs but at my top cadence, most of the pack is going twice as fast and working 1/2 as hard! Transition 2
Run
Comments: ran out of gas during the run. mentally struggled the whole way. i was glad that i didn't walk though and finally hit my stride at 2.75 km. legs cramped up and right hamstring problem flared up. What would you do differently?: practice more bricks of bike to run. Post race
Warm down: walk and light stretch. What limited your ability to perform faster: legs gassed, right hamstring. Event comments: good race. i will do it again next year. the only complaint was the entry into the water was too slippery (down the boat launch) otherwise, a good challenge.
