Swim
Comments: I had a hard time swimming straight to begin with. I got too far outside away from the pack. I think this cost me some time, not alot but a little. Overall, it was an okay swim. What would you do differently?: Better navigation overall. I guess to get faster I need to work on OW swimming some more to gain confidence. Transition 1
Comments: Not super fast. I had to sit down to get my shoes on because I couldn't keep my balance. I also couldn't get all the sand off my feet so I just had to deal with it. What would you do differently?: Stand up, practice more. Bike
Comments: I was that girl. I lost my water bottle right at mile 4. It slipped out of my hand and fell to my left. I don't know why it couldn't have fallen to my right and into the grass. Instead it fell right near a woman coming up behind me. Then I heard a very loud 'damnit!' As she passed me I apologized, I felt so stupid. Then I was without water for 9 miles, that kind of sucked. What would you do differently?: Not loose my water bottle; maybe put 2 on my bike next time. Go faster. On my computer I had my average speed of 15.3 but that was different then my official time. Oh well. I was shooting for an average speed of 16 mph but didn't hit it. Transition 2
Comments: Not as fast as I hoped but my toes were numb for some reason which made it hard to run. What would you do differently?: I don't know, go faster. Run
Comments: I ran the whole way (except for water stops). I'm glad I could do the whole run. I had not done the distance before today, just the time. I was pretty sure I could do it but I had a few doubts and I did not want to walk. What would you do differently?: Again, just go faster. I've been slacking on my running but I did run the whole distance. Post race
Warm down: Walked around downtown Acworth, got some food and picked up my shirt. What limited your ability to perform faster: I don't know. I don't think I'm made to go fast. Event comments: I enjoyed this race but I think sprint races go by too fast. Before I can get in a really good groove and really enjoy myself the race is over. I think I would do it again because it is so well organized. This is the race I've been training all summer for and I hit my "good race" time. Overall I am happy to have that time. I'll just have to work harder and smarter next year to come close to placing in my AG. Lots of room for improvement. Last updated: 2006-07-11 12:00 AM

Had a horrible nights sleep. Finally got up at 5:00, took quick shower, ate some Frosted Mini-Wheats and got my stuff/bike in the van.
None really. Did some warm-up swimming but once I got in the water, I didn't want to get out, it was downright chilly with the breeze. Not that I'm complaining about the weather, it was just a little chilly. The tri gods were smiling on us this morning.
