Pre-race routine:

First race since IMWI 2012 and having baby Jonathan last august. It's been a tough time getting training in (for example, I have swam exactly twice in the last month) with raising baby, buying house, trying to sell house, etc.
Event warmup:

meh. I swam a bit.
Swim
  • 08m 45s
  • 400 meters
  • 02m 11s / 100 meters
Comments:

I suspect that the swim was a little long.
What would you do differently?:

ummm... swim?
Transition 1
  • 01m 41s
Comments:

ummm... not sure what I did that took so long here.
What would you do differently?:

??? practice transitions?
Bike
  • 24m 53s
  • 10 kms
  • 24.11 km/hr
Comments:

I dropped my water bottle and stopped to get it. There is also a pretty long run to and from the mount line. The fastest bike split was 20:12, so not too bad considering.
What would you do differently?:

not drop my water bottle, or not stop to pick it up. I think picking it up was the right decision for me though
Transition 2
  • 01m 32s
Comments:

I don't have the quick laces in my shoes, so tying my shoes took some time. I need to get the laces before my next tri in september. (my old ones are dead).
What would you do differently?:

get the quick laces, it probably would have saved me about 15 seconds.
Run
  • 13m 54s
  • 2.5 kms
  • 05m 34s  min/km
Comments:

even with the course being a bit short, this is probably the fastest I have run since the Guelph olympic in 2012. I tore my calf muscle the following week.
What would you do differently?:

I might have been able to go a bit faster? I tried to stick with the 2nd place girl when she passed me, but I just didn't have it in me.
Post race
Warm down:

walk over to see my darling baby :)

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Ummm... having a baby, body composition (at pre baby weight, but definitely more fat and less muscle), buying a new house, selling our current house, lack of training, should I continue?

Event comments:

The local tri. I had to do it despite not being in shape to do the sprint as originally planned.
