Pre-race routine:

woke at 4:35 and got ready and drove to Pcola beach. Left at 5 and arrived at 6. Had to stand in line for packet pickup. Barely got setup in time before transition closed.

Very choppy swimming into the wind. Sucked in a lot of water. Much slower than I had hoped but so were most people

Very strong cross winds. Rode leaning over at a pretty good angle into the wind. Very dangerous. Several close calls. Passed hundreds of bikes. Got passed by zero.

Nothing. It was my best effort.

Thought I was at dismount line but wasn't yet so I lost a few seconds getting my feet back on my shoes to pedal around the corner to the actual line. Very smooth dismount and running with bike. shoes went on well and out I went. 5th fastest in age group.

check dismount line location before the race starts
