Comments: Great satisfaction when I passed 2 bike with disc wheels and many others with way more money than time in their bike than training. My back was a factor the entire race but no excuse for a slower ride this year. What would you do differently?: More riding and maybe the next step in bikes. I will hit the weights harder that ever before in the next off season. Bike fit will also help. Transition 2

Comments: Calves were on the edge of cramping and hamstring did not the decent to the finish. Wanted to finish under 2 hours. Maybe next year. What would you do differently?: Run more, I knew going into it that I had not run a lot and relied on swimming for the cardio needed to complete the distance. Post race
Warm down: Short walk and light stretch What limited your ability to perform faster: The swim was basically the same this year as last, the bike I had a little issue with wind. The set up of the bike may have a little to do with speed but for sure was a factor with my sore back. Bike fit may not speed me up but comfort would help. The run I fell apart at the end, probably a factor of not enough to drink on the bike. I was also very hungry at the end of the race so next year I will add some type of solid food to the race plan. Event comments: For those looking to step up to a 1/2 ironman this is big enough to get you excited and small enough to be personal. Great venue, for me close to home.
