Swim
Comments: At the beginning I felt as though I would have a great swim. No anxiety and good breathing. Couldn't see a thing. Googles stayed fogged the entire time. Got lost several times including at the finish. I swear I could save 5 minutes with a good pair of goggles. The best goggles I've had were the one piece and my local shop doesn't have them anymore. I will have a few pairs before next season. What would you do differently?: Use a periscope or maybe some sort of sonar. Transition 1
Comments: Couldn't get the suit off and then I couldn't get my jersey on. Arm warmers took forever to get on but they were worth every minute. What would you do differently?: Have several towels and perhaps a nice terry cloth robe ready when I arrive at transition so I could thoroughly dry off. Bike
Comments: Hills. Friggin hills. Darn hills. Stupid hills. Who put those hills there. Seen a bike crash but it wasn't my buddy. Hope they weren't hurt too badly but it did happen on a downhill so he could have going pretty fast. What would you do differently?: Weigh 140 lbs. Transition 2
Comments: Feet were freaking frozen. Left on the jersey, arm warmers, and gloves. Run
Comments: Hills. Hills. Volunteers were great and were stationed every mile. There were some very nice folks on the run and some nice conversation. One very pleasant young lady ask me what they called those thigs I had on to warm my arms...my reply...arm warmers. She got a good chuckle and then proceeded to dust my old a$$. Post race
Warm down: Due to cold wind and drizzle, cooling down was not an issue. Event comments: Other than the remote parking issue this was a fun race that I would like to do but not 6 days after a HIM. Maybe next year skip the HIM and do this race more prepared/ Last updated: 2006-07-13 12:00 AM

Got up and drove the 15 minutes over to the event site. Had a Cliff bar and a cup of coffee.
Had about a 3/4 mile walk from parking to transition. But as cool as it was that was needed just to warm you up.
