Comments:

The hill is lit and there are some areas in the river bottom with lights, but many of the pathways that we followed were dark. It's also been very cold for weeks here until it warmed up yesterday and especially today. That left some large, deep puddles and muddy patches on some of the park trails. There was a pipe and drum band playing in a side pull-off area halfway down the hill and another drum band down in the park. There were also 1646 6k runners but they kept the routes mostly separate this year.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I'm trying to get started running again and I've just barely gotten the long run distance up over 10 km in the last few weeks.

Event comments:

The weather conditions combined, in one of the worst ways, to melt huge amounts of water and mud on the trails.

Course: The start/finish area has moved this year. Now it's 7 or 8 hundred meters to the top of the hill down 300 ft of elevation into the river bottom. After a tour of some river valley parks, the route climbed back up the hill and back to the finish area.
