Pre-race routine:

First HM, carpooled over with good friends. Ate a power at 1/2 hour before the race. Then ran.
Event warmup:

Walked around an tried not to expend too much energy. Longest run before this (pretty much in my whole life) was 4.5 miles.

Comments:

Weather was cool, to chilly. Leg covering would have been a good idea. The course is challenging, spectator support was fun. Aid stations were staffed, and volunteers were great.
What would you do differently?:

Train more :) I had only been running for 3 months before this race. As in, I had never ran more than one mile at a time in my life before July 2013.
Post race
Warm down:

Stopped, stiffened up, drank chocolate milk and water, ate the post race meal, then went home and jumped into friends hot tub :)

What limited your ability to perform faster:

First ever mid-long event. I didn't have enough training miles or any hill training.

Event comments:

I found some of the food odd, but cleaned my plate :)

I will make this race a tradition.
