Swim
Comments: In my previous tri the open water swim really bothered me, crowds, being kicked etc, so I was a little nervous about this. Swam tentatively first then once the crowd dispersed felt fairly comfortable. Felt like I was going to get a charly horse near end of swim but did ok. I actually thought I was swimming faster than my time reflected. What would you do differently?: As I start feeling more comfortable need to be more aggressive in my swim. So far with the swim portion, my goal has just been to finish, I now need to focus on increasing swim confidence and speed. Didn't feel winded at all at finish of this. Do more open water practices before next tri. Transition 1
Comments: Still taking transitions slow, again need to start being more aggresive in this aspect. What would you do differently?: Attack this like a race, not like a time out. Bike
Comments: I enjoyed this ride, maybe too much. Still in mode of saving myself for run What would you do differently?: Hill work! Work on speed, increase cadence and increase confidence in endurance Transition 2
Comments: See T1 comments Run
Comments: Felt ok 1st mile, fair 2nd, rotten 3rd mile, times reflect that. What would you do differently?: work on endurance Post race
Warm down: walked around, ate orange, drank water, ate bagle, enjoyed the atmosphere. What limited your ability to perform faster: Need to work on endurance, need to start pushing myself a little more. Event comments: I loved this race, great course, well organized, man this is addicting! Last updated: 2006-07-17 12:00 AM

Awoke at 4:30, had about an hour and 15 minute drive to sight, left home about 5:15. I wanted to get there in plenty of time. Cereal, energy bar, OJ, peanut butter for breakfast.
Required warm up in riding bike from parking area about a mile to transition set up. Just before race swam abit.
