Pre-race routine:

Went down to Louisville the night before the race to Andy' house. Watched Kentucky beat Kansas State which took until after midnight. Slept on the couch and woke up at 6:10. Awesome.
Event warmup:

Andy is incapable of being on time for anything. So we pull into a parking lot about a mile from the stadium 20 minutes before the race. I still don't have my race packet. Instead of a warmup run I do a 7:30 mile to the stadium (including running up the overpass) get my packet, take my t-shirt to bag check, and make it to the starting line about 30 seconds before the gun went off. Wonderful start!

Comments:

This winter has been awful with all the cold and snow so I've done most of my training on the treadmill. I was a bit worried about how that would translate, but this race went really well. My splits were very consistent (all btw 7:22 and 7:46) and I ran the second half 5 seconds faster than the first.
What would you do differently?:

Not a whole lot other than get to the race earlier. I PR'ed by almost two minutes on a much harder course than my previous 10 Mile PR and I was almost 6 minutes faster than the last time I did this race (2012)
Post race
Warm down:

Waited around for Andy to finish then headed to Nord's Bakery. Yes I would like a maple bacon donut. And a glazed donut. You know what? Let's just make that a dozen. Yum.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nothing. Felt great, achieved my goal.

Event comments:

I enjoy this race when I make it down to Louisville. There are lots of spectators, lots of music on the course, and the hills are a nice challenge.
