Comments: Very crowded start. Got roughed up quite a bit. Good effort and good results considering this was the Championship race with so many strong athletes. Transition 1
Comments: Ran fast all the way through T1 (several hundred yards). Helmet on and running with Bike in about 10 seconds. Shoes already on bike so rode with feet on top for 200 yards to get up to speed. Somehow front part got folded under and couldn't get velcro around right so cost a few seconds pulling on it while not pedaling. Right shoe came off pedal while not on foot completely and almost lost shoe!! What would you do differently?: Pull on front with hands while putting foot in shoe. Bike
Comments: Pushed very hard and rode the best I could ride. 19th out of 25 shows just how strong these guys were. Got passed by 3 bikes in a row and looked down to see that I was going 24.5 mph on a flat! Wow there were some fast bikes out there. Transition 2
Comments: Super fast. Long run to run out cost me some spots here since I run slower than most of the guys in my group apparently. Time from bike in to getting on shoes and heading toward run out was probably 25 seconds at most. Very long run in transition. What would you do differently?: Nothing, it was really perfect. Run
Comments: 7:45, 7:49, 8:39 = 7:50 pace Ran as well as I can with sore ankle. What would you do differently?: run faster Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: being old and slow Event comments: Hy-Vee is big time with lots of top pros in it for the money and racing on the blue carpet is a one of a kind experience. Last updated: 2014-03-23 12:00 AM
