Swim
Comments: First time I've swam in the wetsuit due to problems with local open water and it worked out great. I should have started closer to the front as I had to dodge a number of people who ran out of gas after 100 yards. after clearing them, it was a really good swim. That water could not have been 59 degrees like they were saying in transition. What would you do differently?: Start closer to the front. Transition 1
Comments: Cap got stuck a little because I'm stupid. What would you do differently?: Cap, and I need to work on the rubber bands to get the shoes in the right place before the next race. Bike
Comments: First race on my new (to me) bike and it worked like a charm. Stuck with a group of strong bikers and traded places with them the entire ride. What would you do differently?: Open hydration cap before race. I couldn't get any fluid out of my bite valve at first and that was the problem. Didn't cost me any time. Transition 2
Comments: No worries here. One shoe kind of stuck but cost me only a second or two What would you do differently?: Nothing Run
Comments: This was my best 5k time in all my races. I got passed by the guy who won my age group with about .5 mile left and it didn't matter. The guy ran in the 16s. I wasn't catching him if I was just doing a 5k. Ran negative splits so all in all, perfect run. What would you do differently?: Nothing Post race
Warm down: Walk, talk, walk, change clothes, walk. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing. This race was about perfect for me. Event comments: Really enjoyed this race again this year. Actually, I enjoyed it a lot more than last year due to having the right equipment for the race. Last updated: 2014-03-25 12:00 AM
