Swim
Comments: Thanks to the fog that settled over the lake I couldn't see where i was going for the back straight away and the return leg. I took the wrong line for both and had to be guided back. Other than that, I had a great swim. What would you do differently?: Sight Better!! Transition 1
Comments: Took too much time here since I put a hat and Running jacket on to stay warm on the bike. I'm glad I did but it cost me at least a minute overall and likely 2nd place in the age group. What would you do differently?: Nothing based on the conditions. Bike
Comments: Felt really good on the bike. I held off enough without slowing down too much. Jacket was really appreciated on the downhills. What would you do differently?: nothing. Transition 2
Comments: Took extra time here removing hat and jacket for the run. Had to be done but it cost a little more time. What would you do differently?: nothing Run
Comments: I felt really good on the run. I'm glad I scouted it beforehand because a lot of people thought they were finishing the first time they saw the finish and kicked too early. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Good pace, on the border of what I was able to do. If it was a full 10k that was my PR Post race
Warm down: walk, eat, drink, walk, stretch, drink, walk, stretch, get award. What limited your ability to perform faster: Sighting in lake and jacket/hat for bike. I don't ride outside when the weather is below 60 normally so that was a makeshift solution. Worked out though. Event comments: This race was snake bit this year and suffered from a lot of factors that the race director just cold not control. My hat is off to her and the team of volunteers for pulling off a great race in a bad situation. I will absolutely come back to this race in the future. Last updated: 2014-03-25 12:00 AM
