Swim
Comments: So much better than last year, when the swim did me in (and took me 2 more minutes over 400m). I stayed with a pack (not necessarily mine - I wasn't quite seed right), fought/clawed/groped my way around the buoys, and stayed calm. What would you do differently?: Swim faster - I'm working on it! Transition 1
Comments: I had the absolute worst place for transition - my bike was at the furthest point from the mount/dismount line, so lots of running in my cleats. :( Also, I wasn't exactly fast at getting my shoes on, etc. Plus I put on my watch in T1. Slow! What would you do differently?: Go watchless for a sprint? Bike
Comments: Again - so much better than last year - I was able to clip in right away, stayed in aero for the most part except when turning corners, and was able to pass a number of women. Only got passed by a couple of women (and a bunch of guys). What would you do differently?: Keep training on the bike. I'm pleased, but I need to be able to do this for 4-6 hours. Transition 2
Comments: Too slow getting my running shoes/belt/hat on. What would you do differently?: Move quicker! Run
Comments: I felt like my run went really well and I'm pleased with my pace, but it does seem to be my "weakest link" which is really weird. The whole first mile felt very short-strided and not comfortable, after that I got my groove. What would you do differently?: BRICK workouts! Post race
Warm down: Found my peeps, ate some breakfast, found my family and helped volunteer at the water table through the end of the race. What limited your ability to perform faster: ? I'm happy - no complaints here. Just gotta keep improving. Event comments: Great race - RTC, Peluso, and Set-up throw a great race! I love the digs at GRAP and the swim format (now that I'm not afraid to swim) and will keep doing this race every year if I can! Last updated: 2014-04-25 12:00 AM

Drove down to the site with the fam - they were volunteering. Got transition set-up and then socialized with folks until the race. It's so much fun before races now that I know more people through tri-club and Masters. In fact, my bike was racked right next one of the ladies I swim with.
Ate - lara bar, diet Dew...meant to drink some Gatorade but left it in the car.
Gadding about, chit chatting. :)
