Hyperventilated - was too excited or anxious and had difficulty breathing. Felt I would pass out so flipped to back stroke for 6-8 lengths. Memory fuzzy, but this is the best time yet.

Slow down the start.

Want to repeat next year. May consider doing the short course if only for points. Or the long course to prepare for more outdoor ones.
