Overall Rank = 55/133
Age Group = 40-49
Age Group Rank = 15/30
Pre-race routine:

Set up; visualize; relax
Event warmup:

This time none; I met a woman who had never raced and spent the morning with her answering questions she had about everything racing.
Swim
  • 16m 7s
  • 400 yards
  • 04m 02s / 100 yards
Comments:

I tried to swim fast but really wasn't swimming fast...ugh. Some lady who wasn't sighting well kept cutting across me. I told her she was going off course and instead of lifting her head to check she just turned and went over me again. The second time I let her go off course. I had to stop because i didn't want tote kicked. I swam hard because it was a short swim. No matter I was still slow. The run to transition was long and uphill. My grandson ran along side of me but then I had to wait with him because he couldn't see his mom and started crying. So yeah my swim was slow.
My sighting was great!
What would you do differently?:

train. I hadn't swam since my last race.
Transition 1
  • 02m 43s
Comments:

Before the race check my shoes for items stored. Guess I hadn't been on my bike since my last race...I had the tabs in my shoes!
Bike
  • 25m 36s
  • 6.5 miles
  • 15.23 mile/hr
Comments:

I just pushed has hard as I could. Up out of the seat on a couple of hills. Couldn't pedal hard downhill because of traffic and turns. Some people did not understand what, :Left: meant and did not move to the right.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Run
  • 25m 17s
  • 2 miles
  • 12m 38s  min/mile
Comments:

Had to stip and tie my shoes twice. walked once for a short time. Really enjoyed the trail run. Realized at one point I was jogging when I had more to give and could run. The time on the run includes the T2 time. Unless the swim time includes that and T1 is really not between swim and bike but between bike and run.
What would you do differently?:

stay mindful.
Post race
Warm down:

none really. we went on a family bike ride and mile walk afterward.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

same ol thing...training.

Event comments:

Great meal after the race!
