Swim
Comments: Felt really good going out and knew I was pretty close to the front of the wave. Found a decent pair of feet for the first 3rd. Once we hit the first buoy, that guy slowed way down. I went too hard going past him and was seriously redlining by the second turn. The last stretch was dicey. I was hanging on by my fingernails to get to the shore. Nice touch that they had wet suit strippers, never had that at this race. A spectator very helpfully called out that I was the 4th one from the wave out of the water. Made it pretty certain I was in AG contention since there were 2 groups in the wave. Unlikely that all 3 ahead of me were in my AG. Transition 1
Comments: Kind of slow, relatively speaking, but since I had gone WAY too hard on the swim, I wanted to get my heart rate down a bit before getting on the bike. Bike
Comments: Very decent power output. I may have be able to go a little harder, but I felt solid the whole time. Only had one person pass me from the AG and I caught him on the run. Transition 2
Comments: Much better T2. Best in AG, in fact. Run
Comments: Very happy with this run. I caught the one guy that passed me on the bike in the first 1/2 mile or so. Ran strong but didn't go crazy. I think I negative split the 2 miles by about 2 seconds or so. Post race
Warm down: Got a massage and then hung out for the AG awards! First time ever placing in my AG. About damn time! Event comments: Can't go wrong with the High Five Events. Last updated: 2014-05-04 12:00 AM

Typical race breakfast of a couple of bagels and some Diet Coke. Got to the site a little after transition opened. I need to pay attention to the racks better. There were actually 3 for my wave and I chose the one farthest from the exit. Didn't feel like moving everything once I figured it out, though.
None other than the pre-race yoga/stretching.
