Event warmup:

Stretched, but didn't really do any warm up other than that. The start was really crowded.

Comments:

Overall, I was happy with my time. Was shooting for 01:09:00, but realized after the first three miles that probably wouldn't happen with how hard I pushed myself in the early part of the race. Running in the 01:05:00 to 01:15:00 corral was perfect. There was always someone to run with, but it wasn't crowded, so you didn't have to run around people.
What would you do differently?:

SLOW THE -BEEP- DOWN IN THE FIRST MILE! No, but seriously, I need to learn to pace myself better at the beginning of races. Going out 24 seconds fast on your first mile is not a good idea.

Going out too fast.

Event comments:

Definitely recommend. If you're running sub-8 miles, it shouldn't be too crowded. There are more than 30,000 runners, so you'll never be alone. Great atmosphere. Very packed at the start.

First mile was 6:30, when my goal pace was 6:54. I usually start out way too hard, and this was no exception. Mile three, I was at 20:00. Mile 5, I was at 33:36. Mile 7, I was at 47:59. I clearly slowed down a lot as the race went on.
Course: All paved, almost all straight except a loop around City Hall. It is a net downhill, but there a couple, very slight uphills. Straight through the great city of Philadelphia!
