Swim
Comments: The bay was choppy so the first 100 meters or so I wasn't even putting my head under the water. I wasn't used to the waves so I was figuring out what to do, I guess. What would you do differently?: Swim the way I know I can swim from the start. Transition 1
Comments: Wetsuit got stuck once it got to my ankles. But I got it off without too much wasted time. What would you do differently?: Roll wetsuit down instead of pulling straight down. Bike
Comments: For me I did really good. I was pushing myself to keep good pace. I hoped to average 16mph and I did! I need to improve on the bike but I'm happy with this time right now. I did not drink anything because I didn't want to slow down. What would you do differently?: Drink more. Transition 2
Comments: I had a faster transition than I thought. I had to re-do my ponytail to get my hat on right. Good transition. What would you do differently?: Nothing Run
Comments: I did better than I expected. I hoped to keep a 9min/mile pace and I did better! I had a bit of a side ache but was able to get through it. It felt like forever until mile 1 came. The finish was kind of down hill which was awesome. What would you do differently?: Nothing Post race
Warm down: After I crossed the finish line I got a bottle of water, drank cup of gaterade and ate some watermelon. Then I got my medal, handed in my timing chip and met up with my awesome family. What limited your ability to perform faster: Side ache maybe. Event comments: Great race, I will be back next year! Last updated: 2006-07-23 12:00 AM

Woke up at 3:30 and never fell back asleep. Got up at 5:15. Ate peanut butter toast, drank some water, got dressed and left for race at 6am.
Didn't really warmup. This was my first triathlon and I pretty much hung around family and observed participants who looked experienced. I did go in the water a bit before the race to find out how cold it was.
