Comments: Better than last year, showing improvement. What would you do differently?: Wondering what would happen if I got full controls up on the aero bars. Maybe I should ride with John more often. Considering doing year round training. Transition 2
Comments: Still need to learn to ride with the shoes in the clips. Only problem racking was the competitor who racked next to me came in at almsot the exact time and was sitting down to put his shoes on which I had to navigate around to rack my bike. What would you do differently?: practice riding with shoes. Run
Comments: Better than last year. Had to 'release' some of the gatorade from the bike about a quarter of the way in. What would you do differently?: Not much to do different here. Keep up the training, throw in a few intervals. Post race
Warm down: Walked for about 15 minutes, drove back to cousins house for shower and stretching. What limited your ability to perform faster: Need to find a better pre-race meal. Get to race site with ample time to warm-up. Event comments: I realize that the 'majority' of the competitors were going to finish later in the morning, but making the first batch of finishers waiting until 10:30 for pizza (I would have had to wait 2 hours) was a little unrealistic. Lack of sports drinks (other than samples) for cool down was a little dissapointing (no gatorade/powerade, just sodas and water) Last updated: 2006-07-24 12:00 AM

Still need to find an appropriate pre-race meal. Went mostly liquid with this race, gatorade, nutri-grain bar, and multiple hammer gels. Felt the breakfast during the bike, and had to ralph a little on the run.
Swam 200 meters, loosened up. Ran back and forth the swim to the transition area. Should have been to the race site a little bit earlier. Didn't give myself time to get a good warm up.
