Swim
Comments: JELLYFISH SUCK. The biggest jellyfish I have ever seen live in that bay. My start was pretty strong. I didn't shy away from the pack like I have done in the past. So I think that kept me "in there." The first 800 meters or so were pretty easy, but I do remember coming back on the last 400 or so I was over it. I think I was more over the jellyfish stings. What would you do differently?: Fight harder in the pack. I still need to work on not getting worked up and glide through the water and let it work for me. Oh and i noticed that for some reason I felt like I was swimming faster if I breathe on just one side? I don't know. Transition 1
Comments: Bike
Comments: The first couple of miles were 17 mph spin. I got into an easier gear then something clicked and off I went. I felt pretty good on the bike. I still think I pushed it a bit much knowing what I know now about what was to come in the run... Overall I was pleased with my ride. I feel stronger and stronger everytime I ride. I really need to work on running a longer distance after. More bike/run/bike/run... What would you do differently?: Spin a before I crank with the big gears. I needed to let my body adjust before I started going harder. After 3-4 miles I felt good again. Transition 2
Comments: easy transition, I dont really remember doing anything different. What would you do differently?: nothing Run
Comments: I can't really comment on anything. I knew when I hit the 2nd mile I hit a wall and I soon realized what the rest of the race was going to be like. I cramped the entire run. This was an all time worst run, including practice runs. I don't know if it was a combo of the heat and malnutrition or just not having it that day. I didn't walk but with . What would you do differently?: Just keep practicing. I would like to do training that does bike/run/bike/run Post race
Warm down: Nothing. I could hardly stand up What limited your ability to perform faster: heat cramps Event comments: I was really pleased with my race until the run. I would have had a lot better placement. But some days you've got it and some days ya don't! But being only my 2nd triathlon, I'm not going to beat myself up too bad.
