Swim
Comments: The water was dead calm and the time trail start made for a very relaxing swim. There was very little contact. The return buoys were pretty close to the out buoys so I did get a little off course for a bit. I should have gone with my sleeveless suit as it was warm enough. My shoulders still tired in the full suit. I was a bit congested due to allergies so not the greatest swim but not bad either. The run up the hill from the lake was included in the swim time which I walked. Transition 1
Comments: I had a lot of trouble getting my suit off. The air was really sticky and that suit didn't want to come off my feet. Bike
Comments: Who knew the Midwest had so many hills. There was a lot of sizable climbs on the course. I also found the descents to be a bit tricky so I couldn't really get the full benefit. I also need to spend more training time in aero as my core wasn't up to the full 56 miles. Transition 2
Comments: I should have reapplied sun screen! Now I have sunburn tatoos of my age and race number Run
Comments: It was sooooo hot on this run. My body shut down right from the start. I don't do well in heat and this course offered no relief from the sun. I ran every flat and down hill but had to walk the ascents. Post race
Warm down: I was overheated and badly sunburned. My body temp didn't normalize until late that night. Even drinking at every aid station I was severly dehydrated. Event comments: Rev 3 always does a great job and this was no exception. Its a hard course and the weather made it even tougher. It was a good wake-up call for me as I'm sure IM Boulder won't be any easier on the weather front. More heat training is in my future! I'm also going to work on doing a better job of sun screen application! Last updated: 2014-06-04 12:00 AM

Putting on my wetsuit feels like a warm-up. It was already getting hot and sticky at 7am!
