Pre-race routine:

Half a bagel, half a banana - running SO late because you have to go down 105, thats the only way to get to the race), and they were filming a movie, AHH!! I was freaking out a bit...

Event warmup:

None, we had to park 1/2 mile away, and ride our bikes to the transition, run to get marked, and run to the beach, the first wave had already gone out, thank goodness we were in the last wave...

Comments:

Horrible!! I hate salt water, I swallowed half of the Altantic Ocean!!
What would you do differently?:

Everything, I skinned my knee on the start, then got boxed in, rounded the first buoy well, then swam out to sea...I was wondering why there was absolutely NOBODY around me, I went so far off course...got back on course, and was pretty annoyed...swimming is my favorite, so I was bummed that it went so badly, never got into a real rhythm except when I was going off course (HAA!!)

Should be fast since I was wearing running shoes on my bike...

Comments:

HOT HOT, and did I mention? HOT!! I ended up running with a guy who was going about my pace, it was too hot to worry about pace too much, just focusing on running to whole way, and I did!!
What would you do differently?:

Run faster, get in better shape...considering the weather, I did the best I could...
Post race
Warm down:

Drink water...drink more water...drink even more water...eat watermelon, eat an electrolyte...

What limited your ability to perform faster:

HOT weather!
