Swim
Comments: Swim was pretty good. Started off first 100 yards strong and got the initial shoulder burn. Workerd through that and then got into a pretty good rythym. What would you do differently?: Sighted much better. I could have swam faster, at least another minute faster. For some reason I was saving something for a certain part of the race so I was afraid of pushing myself. Transition 1
Comments: Transition was a long run up to the bikes. Sat down immediately, almost a nessecity for me after I swim. What would you do differently?: Nothing really. Bike
Comments: I really enjoyed the bike. Thanks to MM and the tire pressure gauge I really noticed a huge difference in climbing hills and low positioned flats. I was shoothing for a 16.5 pace and did 17.6 so I'm pretty happy. What would you do differently?: Not really too much. I was bloated. Maybe too much cyto sport or gels? I guess that will come with experience. Transition 2
Comments: I guess i could have shaved off alot of time. Downed a caffinated tri berry GU and some water. What would you do differently?: Move with a little more urgency Run
Comments: Oh boy. PASS ME IN PACKS WHY DON"T YOU!!! I sucked in the run, but I didn't walk. My goal was to do sub ten minute miles. FAIL. The first mile was good. Looked at the watch...9 minutes. Stopped to pee in the woods, 45 sec. Mile two. Damn, I still have five to go! Upper ab and side cramps, not too bad. Drank some terrible gatorade concoction at mile station two, cramps worsen. Mile 3. Legs feel kind of heavy, left knee starts to get a little stiff. Mile 4.5.6. Knee hurts, the ab cramps feel good compared to this. I have to stop every minute to stretch it out. The finish. I say f@#k the knee, I'm going to try and finish hard. I tried, I hope it at least looked hard. My longest run ever. What would you do differently?: Stupid idiot for not running 6 miles straight at least once before the race. Should have taken a motrin before the race which might have helped with the knee thing. Should have trained harder for the run. Post race
Warm down: squatted. looked at my medal. ate an orange. laughed for no reason (this continued randomly for an hour or so) What limited your ability to perform faster: running and sucking in general. Event comments: Awesome Race!!! I can't wait to do this next year. This race will be the true bar to see how much I improve over the next year as well as an inspiration to keep training harder. I also see this as my first real race. My goal for next year is to cut off at least 15 minutes off my time. A special thanks to the whole BT crew. My sister was at the race and was truly amazed that I have such a fun and extremely supportive bunch to train with. I agree. Last updated: 2006-07-26 12:00 AM

Woke up at 3:55am, woke the living dead (my hungover sister) and off to Marlborough. Drove up with Seth, Mark, and Sis. Ate some macaroni and a clif bar on the way up. Also 1 water. Got to the race and was saved by the grace of our fearless leader (MM) when he dfound out that my tire pressure was 45 lbs and was suppose to be 120. No wonder my bike workouts have been so slow. Got my stuff, set up the transition, marked and tagged, quick porto-potty stop, and down to the lake.
Warm up is for suckers:)
