Pre-race routine:

Waited around with everyone else waiting to see if we were going to swim. It was nasty out.
Event warmup:

Short jog with Stacie and contmplating doing the race as a relay with Julis. I really didn't want to swim in the lighting and choopy conditions.

Comments:

This was a terrible swim. I almost didn't do it. I decided that everyone was not going to puss out so I shouldn't either. I go going and immediately couldn't breathe and was panicking. I looked back at the shore many times wondering how I was going to finish. Then Stacie swims up and Says, " Are we having fun yet?, with a big smile so I pushed on. Tried to keep siting over the huge swells and getting myself back together. I did and finished. What a wuss!
What would you do differently?:

Suck it up and swim!

Ok the run went well. Started slow to bring down the HR, which was in my throat right now. Settled in and didn't get a side stitch for the first time in this series. Got past the hill and picked it up. Saw Julia and she said, "see if you can catch me?" Well ok then. Caught her a bit before the finish and pushed past a guy right at the finish. First time under 20 minutes on this course.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing

Beers, food, and gab.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Swimming in choppy water.

Event comments:

great time after all was said and done. The run was pleasant, the beers were cold, and the company was awesome. What more can you say!
