What would you do differently?: Wear a wetsuit whenever possible ![]() Transition 1
Comments: Set up bike 1st row in - guy next to me had the end spot T1 took way to long I was putting on socks / bike shoes when I had opportunity to dunk my feet in a bucket to wash them Clumsy putting on bike gloves - Do I need them for next time or go without? Having a race belt helps What would you do differently?: Bring my own bucket to was my feet Try to get the end spot for extra transition room (grab bike and go) Work on T1 & T2 before the race ![]() Bike
Comments: This course is definitely great for beginners Took Gu on each lap (tried to equally divide race into thirds) strategy seemed to work well What would you do differently?: Would have trained with aero bars Use aero bars during race Track cadence / RPM's ![]() Transition 2
Comments: For my first tri I can't complain Only thing is I left my Garmin watch on my bike (too excited) What would you do differently?: Remember to take Garmin watch on run ![]() Run
Comments: Took a while to ease into smooth running What would you do differently?: Bring my watch, however, not having a watch actually helped me run faster I was running faster than I thought I was Nice finish - had a foot race with two runners Strong all-out "sprint" finish ![]() Post race
Warm down: Hung out with wife and kids and just Enjoyed the day at the lake after What limited your ability to perform faster: Right ankle was bothering me week before leading to race day This may have been due to speed training workouts and/or bike shoe pedaling (hard effort), not sure Event comments: Would love to see a closed course or just a bit more police supervision at intersections. Overall this is a great race for beginners or experienced triathletes alike. I would definitely consider doing this race again in the future. Last updated: 2014-07-27 12:00 AM
