Overall Rank = 47/92
Age Group = 25-29
Age Group Rank = 6/9
Pre-race routine:

Felt well relaxed going in. Had the usual cereal and energy bar. Just a little nervous prior to start.
Event warmup:

Did a short bike (2 min) and run (8 min) and swim (3 min) warmup.
Swim
  • 34m 37s
  • 1640 yards
  • 02m 07s / 100 yards
Comments:

Had a good start, but couldn't keep pace and slowly kept losing ground. I didn't feel like my effort justified my time, but the clock doesn't lie.
What would you do differently?:

Maybe not go out quite so fast, and try to hold a faster overall pace.
Transition 1
  • 01m 43s
Comments:

My shirt got stuck on my wet back as did socks and forcing feet into shoes, but I'm not sure trying to dry off would have saved any time.
What would you do differently?:

Focus on efficiency rather than hurrying.
Bike
  • 1h 19m 58s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 18.65 mile/hr
Comments:

It was a good ride, I took one gu at the beginning and one around mile 18. Again, I felt the time was slow for the effort exerted, but I'm happy with the effort and I'll take the experience points.
What would you do differently?:

Drink more. I only drank what was needed to make the gu taste go away, and early in the run I could tell that wasn't enough.
Transition 2
  • 00m 56s
Comments:

I'm not sure, but I believe this is my first bike-run trans under 1 min. It felt smooth and I even ate 2 shotblocks.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Run
  • 47m 23s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 07m 38s  min/mile
Comments:

I had a descent run, seemed to recover quicker than last time, but had to walk in a couple spots--likely not drinking enough. It felt like I slowly gained speed throughout the race.
What would you do differently?:

Drink more on the bike to prep for run.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Really unsure here. Possibly need to drink more. Could have been diet too--should concentrate on plenty of protein and carbs leading up to it. Possibly the slight increase in altitude.

Event comments:

For the size of the field (~140), the competition is some of the best I've seen. Course is tough, but good times are still attained.
I did expect more than water and some fruit for a $60 entry fee.
